London Youth Choirs will share the stage with a galaxy of stars at Buckingham Palace on Saturday 4 June as part of the Platinum Party at the Palace concert celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s 70-year reign.

20 members aged 7-13 from across the LYC choirs will perform a number from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ as part of the two-and-a-half hour show, which will be broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Radio 2.

Twenty-two thousand people will attend the event, including 10,000 tickets allocated in a public ballot and over 7,500 tickets for key workers, members of the Armed Forces, volunteers, and charities.

Queen + Adam Lambert are set to open the extravaganza, which will also feature performances by Alicia Keys, Sir Elton John, Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Sir Rod Stewart, Craig David, Mabel, Elbow, George Ezra, Duran Duran, Andrea Bocelli, Mimi Webb, Sam Ryder, Jax Jones, Celeste, Nile Rodgers, Sigala and Diversity, and appearances by stars and celebrities including Sir David Attenborough, Emma Raducanu, David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Dame Julie Andrews, The Royal Ballet, and Ellie Simmonds.

The spectacular stage design will include full projection mapping of the front of Buckingham Palace, turning the historic facade into the UK’s biggest screen for the night.

LYC’s Executive Director Nina Camilleri and Artistic Director Rachel Staunton said:

“It is an incredible privilege for LYC to sing for The Queen in her historic Platinum Jubilee year, and a mind-blowing opportunity for our young people to join the glittering tributes. Everyone is excited beyond measure to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime event, and we are profoundly grateful for the invitation to perform.”
